Announcing the Laura Bishop Communications Internship with the Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication
The Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication proudly welcomes the new Laura Bishop Communications Internship to support student interns with the Center. "It just feels so 'right' to support student interns at the Center," shares Laura Bishop.
Bishop launched Laura Bishop Communications in 2011 with a handful of clients and a strong work ethic. "My internship with Sunoco after graduating from Rutgers in 1981 opened the doors to a whole new world and changed my career trajectory," she shares. "I hope the Laura Bishop Communications internship, with Julie's guidance and mentorship, will do the same for many bright communication professionals on the brink of promising careers."
As a proud supporter of Edelman CCCA, Bishop serves on the Edelman CCCA advisory board and on the Center’s Leadership Council. She also spoke to students with the Center in January 2021.
The Center for the Advancement of Women in Communication promotes gender equity and fosters advancements for women working in all fields of communication, both in academia and in industry. The Center provides access to renowned guest speakers, mentoring, networking events, and virtual workshops for the benefit of undergraduates, graduate students, early professionals, and seasoned communication experts alike.

The Diane Holtzman Scholarship Fund
As an alum of the M.A. in Public Relations (now M.A. in Strategic Communication) program, Dr. Diane Holtzman '73 is dedicated to making an impact on Edelman CCCA students. The newly established Diane Holtzman Scholarship Fund will benefit a Public Relations and/or Advertising student with demonstrated financial need.
"She's giving back to deserving students who have financial need and who serve their community as she does," shares Dr. Suzanne FitzGerald, chair of the Public Relations and Advertising department.
After graduation, Dr. Holtzman worked as a full-time temporary instructor for the Public Relations and Advertising department at Rowan, serving an instrumental role in creating the department's integrated marketing communication courses. Additionaly, Dr. Holtzman also taught graduate management courses at Stockton University.
The Diane Holtzman Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time, junior Public Relations and/or Advertising major with demonstrated financial need. First preference will be given to a student from Atlantic County. Eligible students will be invited to apply via Scholarship Universe and the scholarship will be awarded for the first time in the 2023-2024 academic year.
