Edelman CCCA Scholarships
Edelman Scholars
The Edelman Scholars program is designed to transform the lives of students who otherwise may not attend or graduate from college. The program provides support services, community-building, and experiential learning opportunities to foster lifelong success for majors within the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts.
Unlike any other scholarship in the United States, the Edelman Scholars program also provides a $17,000 award upon timely graduation from Edelman CCCA to help launch students into post-graduate life.
As an Edelman Scholar you will receive:
- Substantial scholarship aid toward the full cost of attendance (tuition, books, fees, board/meals)
- Year-round, on-campus housing
- Wrap-around support via Rowan’s student support services
- Internship, work study, and community service opportunities
- Professional development support
- Participation in Edelman Scholars peer-mentoring program
- Social events to foster connections within the Rowan community
- Post-graduation Launch Funds

The August Bagin - Richard Ambacher, Sr. Memorial Scholarships
This $1500 scholarship is awarded to one incoming freshman in the Ric Edelman College of Communication and Creative Arts. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and will be invited to submit a 250-300 word essay to be considered for this award.

The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Scholarship
The Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Scholarship
Each year, the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia award scholarships to area Delaware Valley college students majoring in Communication. For more information, visit their website.
The David Cromie Communication Scholarship
This scholarship honors the memory of David Cromie, former professor and chair of the College of Communication. A scholarship of $650 per year is awarded to one incoming freshman or transfer student in the Ric Edelman College of Communication and Creative Arts. Eligible students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and will be invited to submit a 250-300 word essay to be considered for this award.

The Photography Scholarship
Students who are enrolled in either the Minor in Photography or BFA in Art, Concentration in Photography program by December 21, 2021 are invited to apply for a $1,000 per semester ($2,000/year) scholarship renewable for up to three and a half years. Up to three students will be awarded scholarships for Spring 2022.

The Stephanie George Lenchinsky and William Lenchinsky Endowed Scholarship Fund
Scholarship will first be awarded in the 2023-24 academic year. Scholarship awarded to students with the most demonstrated financial need who are enrolled in a Writing Arts program with a dual major in Education. The recipients will be chosen by the Writing Arts Committee.
Anne Marie Bottazzi Scholarship for Excellence in Academics and Leadership
Scholarship awarded to a junior Public Relations, Writing Arts or Journalism major. Recipient must have a GPA (as of the end of the Spring, junior year semester and the Fall senior year semester) of 3.7 in their major and 3.5 overall. The recipient must demonstrate campus leadership in student clubs and organizations, with a preference for SGA, PRSSA and SUP. The recipients are selected by the CCCA committee.
Burgin Leadership Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to an upper-class College of Communication student who demostrates leadership and volunteerism within their major, the University and their communitiy. Recipient should possess a 3.0 GPA. Please note this account funds two scholarships, only one of which is CCCA. The recipient is selected by the University Senate Committee.
CCCA Flying First Endowed Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to student enrolled in the College of Communication & Creative Arts who are first-generation students with demonstrated financial need. The recipient is selected by Penny McPherson Myers.
Marie Ann (Wagner) Gemmell Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship created in memory of Marie (Wagner) Gemmell ’08. Recipient will be a College of Communication & Creative Arts upper-classman with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Awardee must also be a member of PROS, Greek Life or SGA. Please note this account funds four scholarships, only one of which is a CCCA scholarship. The recipient is selected by the University Senate Committee.
Diana King Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to rising juniors, seniors or graduate students who are talented artists and storytellers with a passion and talent for the cinematic, television and media arts. Students must demonstrate financial need. The recipients are selected by the Dean of CCCA.
Diana King Master of Arts in Television
Scholarship awarded to MA in Television Studies students. Award selection is based on financial need and/or merit. The student must be enrolled in at least 6 credits each semester and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Scholarship can be extended up to two academic years. Up to $100,000is available for the first cohort of students. The recipients are selected by the chair of RTF in consultation with the Dean.
Antoinette Libro Scholarship for Excellence in Writing Arts
Scholarship awarded to a Master of Arts in Writing student with at least a 3.5 GPA. Recipient should have earned a B.A. in Writing Arts or English. The recipient is selected by the Graduate Program Advisor and the Committee.
Piazza Stubbs Family Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a permanent resident of the United States with a 3.25 GPA.
First preference: Education major.
Second preference: Communication major
The recipient is selected by the University Senate Committee.

Myra Schiffmann-Bunya Sandler Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to Graduate students when entering their work into writing contests and/or assist with travel expenses to attend professional development conferences and opportunities. The recipients are chosen by the Writing Arts department.
Sherman and Ann Ward Scholarship for Sculpture
Scholarship awarded to a junior or senior art major with an interest in sculpture and a 2.5 GPA. The recipient is selected by the head of the Sculpture area.
Daniel E. Baker Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a Radio/TV/Film junior or senior with an interest in Broadcasting and a 3.0 GPA. The recipient is selected by the RTF Committee.
Seward Johnson Artist Development in Media Scholarship
Scholarship provides funding for an undergraduate art major to study with SRISA in Florence, Italy Scholarship pays the students’ air fare, tuition, housing and a stipend.
Trymaine Lee Diversity in Media Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a Journalism major with demonstrated financial need. Recipient must possess a 3.0 GPA and reside in Camden County. First preference will be given to first-generation college students participating in a Rowan University diversity initiative program. Must submit a 500-1000-word essay
describing overcoming diversity in his/her life, as well as the importance of diversity in media coverage of marginalized communities. The recipient is selected by the Journalism department.

Cindy A. Nanny Memorial Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to a senior Radio/TV/Film major with a 3.0 GPA. The recipient is selected by the RTF Committee.
South Jersey Gas Scholarship
Scholarship awarded to Business or Communication majors who reside in the South Jersey Gas service area. The recipients are selected by the University Committee.
How To Apply
University scholarships are available to students through Scholarship Universe. The University Scholarship Committee awards scholarships to Rowan University Students on the basis of academic excellence, financial need, and participation in on-campus and off-campus activities.
