In addition to his dual degrees from Rowan, Professor Royek was the 2015 recipient of the Writing Arts Department’s Antoinette Libro Graduate Medallion Award and was enshrined into the Rowan University Wall of Fame in 2019. As a full-time Assistant Professor, he teaches Honors Sophomore Engineering Clinic 1, Sophomore Engineering Clinic 1, Introduction to Technical Writing, and the full array of courses in the Writing Arts major and the First Year Writing Program. Before joining Writing Arts, he was an adjunct professor in Rowan’s Journalism Department. (line space) Earlier in his career, Professor Royek worked as a reporter and editor at the Courier-Post and USA TODAY, as public relations director at international manufacturer AMETEK, Inc., and as national marketing director at First American Title Insurance Co. Among his professional recognitions are a 2010 Feature Writing Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and a series of publicity writing, advertising, art direction, and design awards from the PRSA, the Business Marketing Association, and the New Jersey Press Association. Professor Royek also won a “Best of Gannett” award from the nation’s largest newspaper group for an investigative series on municipal corruption.
