Marisa Watanabe is a first-generation half Japanese/half Chinese-Indonesian South Jersey-based designer and educator. Her work is rooted in exploring the digital realm where she experiments with typography, layout, media, and speculative design. She is primarily interested in the space between the physical and digital environments, the relationship between them, and their respective capabilities/limitations in regards to design and experiences. She is also a practicing designer and has worked with clients including Vaulted Oak, Cosmorama, SAS34, VIVA Raw Pets, Civic News Company, Pulitzer Arts, SABAI Design, The Woobles, The Mark Morris Dance Group, Boco Digital Media, Bluecadet, Drexel Dance Group, Mainline Arts Center, Rincliffe Gallery, and Jenny Lynn Photo Art.
