Kristine Annuzzi Lafferty joined Rowan’s Writing Arts Department in 2014 after teaching in a Southern NJ high school for over a decade. She teaches a variety of courses in First-Year Writing and Literacy Studies. She co-founded the Rowan University Writing Project (RUWP), a division of the National Writing Project. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in active student engagement and inclusive, anti-racist practices. Professor Lafferty is particularly interested in peer collaboration, as well as facilitating and engaging in professional development, especially through the RUWP and her DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion) work. Professor Lafferty was honored to receive a Rowan University Excellence in Diversity Award (2022), the FYW Outstanding Adjunct Teaching Award (2015), and the FYW Excellence in Teaching Award (2016) for her student-oriented teaching.
