B.A. in Sociology from The Ohio State University
M.A. in Public Relations from Rowan University.
Donald Dunnington has been a web content developer since 1995 and a blogger since 2004. He has been a speaker on Internet marketing at international conferences and led blogging and website workshops in the US, Europe, and Asia. He has authored articles that have appeared in U.S. and international magazines and journals. His book, “Digital Marketing for The New World: How U.S. Brands and Retailers Can Succeed in Today’s Global-Local Markets,” was published in 2015.
He has developed and taught courses for Rowan’s graduate PR program covering Marketing Communication, Global PR and Communication, Visual-PR, and Online PR. His Online PR was redeveloped as a fully online courses, one the first to be offered on the Rowan Global platform. He is currently developing a new undergraduate class on Generative AI and Strategic Digital Communication and updating the graduate Online PR course to include the use of Generative AI.
An active PR and content marketing practitioner, he is currently marketing manager for the Philadelphia region’s leading builder of luxury pools and outdoor living environments. Other engagements have included a U.K. based company providing global Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and country-specific cultural testing for e-commerce websites, an IBM-funded startup that developed the IBM Watson Cognitive Computing engine for hotels and convention bureaus, one of the first uses of AI by travel marketing industry. He started his online career in 1995 at K-Tron International, an industrial equipment manufacturer, where he created the industry’s first website. As the Internet grew in influence, he led a global team of content creators and marketers.
He began his career as an account executive and creative director at a Washington, D.C. PR agency. He has held senior PR and marketing positions in government agencies, non-profit organizations, and industrial corporations. He has extensive experience working with the food and travel industry, healthcare organizations, and Internet and technology companies.
