Biography

Ph.D. in Art (Art Education). University of Georgia

B.A. from Juniata College in Huntington, Pennsylvania 
 
 
Dr. Carolina Blatt is an art educator, arts administrator and scholar who seeks to catalyze the arts within and beyond the classroom. Her inquiry into social, affective and embodied cognition fuels her dedication to participatory artmaking. Often community-driven and socially engaged in nature, large-scale collaborative projects that expand our notions of care and wonder are the hallmark of her work. She was formerly the Program Director and Professor of Art & Design Education at the University of the Arts, the Program Coordinator and Associate Professor of Art Education at The College of New Jersey, and an Associate Professor at Georgia Gwinnett College. Her research has been presented nationally and internationally and published in a range of scholarly journals, including Studies in Art Education, Arts Education Policy Review, Journal for Learning Through the Arts, Journal of Social Theory in Art Education and International Journal of Education & the Arts, as well as popular press, including CNN.com. She received the Higher Education Award from the Art Educators of New Jersey in 2021 and is a member of the National Art Education Association’s 2022 cohort of School for Art Leaders.
