4+1 B.A. & M.A. Program
Earn a B.A. & M.A. at the same time!
The 4+1 program allows students to complete a B.A. in Advertising or Public Relations AND a M.A. in Strategic Communication in just 5 years. Students save money by paying for graduate courses at the undergraduate rate and save time by starting graduate classes their senior year. Apply for the program in your junior year by contacting the graduate advisor, Dr. Bokyung Kim.

How do I apply?
Successful applicants need to have a 3.25 GPA in the major (including required and related electives) or a 3.0 GPA overall. Applications are due before March 1 of your Junior year. Required application materials:
- The 4+1 Application Form
- A program review of your BA degree and your Public Relations/Advertising major.
- A writing sample from Basic or Advanced Public Relations Writing (for PR majors) or AD Copywriting (for AD majors)
- A 300-350-word statement of your purpose in attending the program
- Tell us your purpose in attending the program.
- Provide details about your professional interests or how you might grow as a strategic communication professional.
- Try to place your objectives within a context that includes your past experience and your educational goals beyond the master’s level, if relevant.
- Use the statement as an opportunity to demonstrate your writing skills.
You should also submit two letters of recommendation, with at least one from a Public Relations/Advertising professor, emailed by the recommender directly to Bokyung Kim at kimb@rowan.edu.
