Ned Eckhardt Television Production Scholarship

This scholarship, in honor of Professor Ned Eckhardt, recognizes the academic achievements of a student who exhibits exceptional skills in video production, including documentaries, episodic television, music based work, journalistic works, narrative stories, and new media video. The Salva Family Scholarship

Awarded to a junior Radio, Television, and Film major with a top GPA who is active in RTF activities, such as WGLS, Cinema Workshop, or Channel 5. Application deadline March 15.

Thomas Stathakes Sports Media Scholarship

This scholarship, generously provided by college alumnus Tom Stathakes, recognizes the academic achievements of students with an interest in a media career covering sports.

Five $1000 scholarships will be given for the 2015-2016 academic year.

Requirements for Application

• Students should be EITHER:

o RTF major

o Journalism major who has completed Sports Journalism I and Sports Journalism II or Sports Broadcast (current enrollees in Sports Journalism II are eligible);

• Overall GPA of 3.0 or above;

• Full-time matriculated status in this academic year and in the 2015-2016 academic year;

• Proven interest in a career covering sports;

• Financial need (for scholarship consideration, students must complete a FAFSA for the 2015-2016 year).

Interested students should submit the following material to Jennifer Henning ( by March 16th at 4:00 p.m.

• 500-word essay addressing past media experience in covering sports (including coursework, employment, internships, freelance work, etc.) and future plans for a career related to sports coverage.

• 2 samples of media work directly related to sports coverage (may be sent in files or as links to online material) along with a short description of your role in the creation of the media.


Sue Kroll/Warner Brothers Internship

Warner Bros. seeks a Rowan University Radio/TV/Film student for a Summer internship. This role is designed for the intern to gain practical business experience through exposure to real business situations at Warner Bros. Pictures Worldwide Marketing. In addition to other summer intern activities, the selected Rowan intern will enjoy a lunch with Sue Kroll, Rowan alumna and President, Worldwide Marketing & International Distribution. About the business: Warner Bros. Pictures Group (WBPG) produces, markets and distributes Warner Bros.' slate of approximately 20 movies a year. Warner Bros.' movies have not only generated industry-leading box office results, but have also won multiple Academy Awards in recent years including Best Picture wins for films including Argo, The Departed and Million Dollar Baby. Warner Bros. Pictures is a global leader in the international marketing and distribution of feature films, operating in more than 30 countries and releasing films in more than 120 territories.


• Assists in creating/updating strategy presentations and communication pieces with direction from supervisor.

• Assists in gathering information and updating various presentations and reports for assigned properties.

• Assists in the execution of promotions and events.

• Assists with market and industry research as requested.

• Provides administrative support as necessary for Worldwide Marketing.

• Assists in other marketing projects as requested.


• Must be currently enrolled as a Radio/TV/Film student at Rowan University.

• Must be available to work for 8-10 consecutive weeks in Burbank, CA, between May and August 2016.

• Must have ability to communicate effectively & tactfully with all levels of personnel & outside sources.

• Must have ability to pay close attention to details.

• Must have ability to work well under time constraints.

• Must have ability to handle multiple tasks.

This internship comes with a $1000 travel stipend. Student will be responsible for housing costs.
