2023 Emerging Writers Scholarship!
The Emerging Writers Scholarship serves to celebrate and support incoming Writing Arts majors (freshmen) who are enthusiastic about their craft and hope to make a positive impact on the world through their work and creativity. Recipients of the Emerging Writers Scholarship are eligible for a minimum of $1,000/year in scholarship funds. The scholarship is renewable for four years (eight semesters) as long as you maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Eligible students will receive an email inviting them to apply for this scholarship once they have confirmed they are attending Rowan in Fall 2023. Access to the application also will be available on the Invitations page of their Applicant Status Portal.
To apply, you must submit the essay below through the application link by Friday, June 16, 2023 at 11:59 PM.
Scholarship application essay prompt:
In Rowan's Writing Arts department, we empower writers to tell the stories that matter most in our personal lives; to contribute meaningfully in our workplaces, classrooms, and communities; and to enact social change. In an essay of approximately 250-500 words, respond to the following question: How do you view your writing as something that could change your life, impact real readers, and help improve the world?
