Congratulations to Melissa Kirk and Xin Liu (art majors) as the first recipients of our new partnership scholarship with Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts in Gatlinburg, Tennessee for Summer 2017. Melissa is will attend a summer workshop to learn encaustic techniques and she will continue her work with mountainous landscape while in the Smoky Mountains. Xin will be taking a woodworking class as her workshop experience.

Ashlyn Napoletano (art major) and Julian Zuniga (RTF major/photographer) were announced as winners of 2017 Excellence in Diversity Awards by the University Senate Diversity Committee. Ashlyn won the Excellence in Diversity Award for Performance in the Student Category in recognition of her student work in photography. Julian was nominated from our Department for his photography work. He won the Excellence in Diversity Award for Scholarship in the Student Category.

Seward Johnson Artist Development Travel Scholarship
This scholarship enables a Rowan art major to study abroad for a full semester at the Studio Art Centers International (SACI) in Florence, Italy, and is made possible through the generosity of J. Seward Johnson, Jr. The highly competitive scholarship covers not only tuition, housing, and transportation but also provides a modest living stipend.
