B.A. in Health and Science Communication

The Bachelor of Arts in Health and Science Communication prepares students for cutting-edge, high impact work in communication sectors that focus on health and medicine, public understanding of science, and the environment.

Concentrations

Students choose a communication concentration from:

  • Communication Studies
  • Journalism
  • Public Relations/Advertising
  • Writing Arts

Students also choose a subject concentration from:

  • Health Communication in the Public Sphere
  • Interpersonal Health Advocacy
  • Science and the Environment 

The program stresses hands-on experience and critical analysis to train graduates for careers in health and science advocacy, doctor-patient communication, public health campaigns, and mass communication of emerging scientific and health issues, trends and policies.

Rowan’s two medical schools, and the gamut of pharmaceutical organizations, hospitals, medical centers, and nonprofits nearby, offer students ample options for internships and employment as well as connections between campus and industry.
