Kate (she/her/hers) is a Senior Lecturer of sports communication in the Department of Communication Studies where she has been teaching since 2013. She helped create the interdisciplinary Sports Communication and Media program that launched in 2018 and is now the largest such program in the country. Her research interests include analyzing gender dynamics within sport—specifically, depictions of athletes in media—as well as portrayals of gender in popular culture texts.
