Dissertation

This dissertation will focus on integrating live electronic sampling with acoustic musicians in the live performance setting. Acoustic musicians provide the musical content necessary for the sampler to loop, reconstruct, and explore the plethora of ways that it can be played back to the audience and fellow musicians onstage. Jones also researches the psychology of audience suspense. Lastly, as Jones discovers possibilities of how to compose for this electronic and acoustic technique, the dissertation will construct a curriculum for instruction to assist in furthering the art of composition for future generations of music students and composers.
