Celebrity Chef Charlie Ayers is our featured chef and speaker. “Chef Charlie” is the original Executive Chef for Google, former chef for the Grateful Dead, author of Food 2.0, and founder of Calafia Cafe and Market A Go-Go in Palo Alto. His motto “eat, drink and be merry” reflects both a long-standing tradition shared by many and a dedication to quality that Chef Charlie will demonstrate through the meal he prepares and presents.
Why the Celebration? A half century ago, five faculty members from then-Glassboro State College’s English Department created a communications program to teach writing. Their work established a foundation for what is now the College of Communication and Creative Arts with 1,500 students completing more than two-dozen majors, minors, and certificates, and 250 faculty members. Our award-winning graduate and undergraduate programs and the large network of successful alumni across the world are testimony to the integral position of CCCA within Rowan University’s growing role as a leader in educational innovation. Prof. Christopher Winkler is leading a short movie featuring interviews with some of the movers and shakers.
Who is attending? We estimate about 200 guests in total. See guest list here.
- Faculty and staff who joined us in 1967 through 2017;
- Alumni from as far back as 1975 and as far away as California;
- Graduate and undergraduate students graduating in eight weekes, or eithg semesters;
- Friends and family of our faculty, staff, students, and alumni: we look forward to seeing you there.
