LA Study Away Program - Application Form

Overview

The Radio, Television, & Film Department will be sending 16 students for a two month residency in Los Angeles in the Summer of 2020.  The experience will include a 3 credit cinematography class and a 3 credit internship.  The students who are selected for this will be responsible for the 6 credit summer tuition.  $1000 will be awarded to all accepted students and will go towards their summer tuition.  In addition to the classes, there will be informal meetings with various Rowan alumni working in the industry.  Field trips will be planned to various locations within Los Angeles.

Housing will be provided by AVA Toluca Hills (see below), centrally located between Universal and Warner Brothers Studios, and close to downtown Los Angeles.  Four students will reside in each two bedroom furnished apartment each of which of which comes with complete kitchens.  The apartment complex has two pools and a fitness center.  There will be students from other universities that will also be housed there during the summer.  The costs are also listed below.

This is a wonderful opportunity to experience the a major center for the production of media in the United States.  This is also an opportunity for students who may be considering moving to LA after graduation to investigate living on the west coast.

If you have any questions about this opportunity, feel free to email Keith Brand at brandk@rowan.edu
